Favorite Cards
What are your favorite cards? Are there cards you collect in multiples without intent to play them? I have a list of about 75 cards that I buy whenever I come across them.

Re: Favorite Cards
Funny sounding foreign cards.
Bottle Gnomes - Glob-gnomes (French)
Clockwork Gnomes - Gnomi meccanisi (Italian)
Ersatz Gnome - Kunstliche Gnome (German)
Ticking Gnomes - Gnomes tic-tac (French)
Dross Golem - Schlakengolem (German)
Tawnos's Wand - Tawnos' Zauberstab (German)
I googled Ersatz. The wiki was amusing because it said Ersatz is a German word for artificial. So is Kunstliche. Then shouldn't the German translation for Ersatz Gnome be Ersatz Gnome?

Re: Favorite Cards
I am a fan of those myself. Could you post the english card name and language? I am also a fan of
Blitzschlag - Lightning Bolt in German
Burlarbusto - Brushwagg in Italian
Le Miserable - The Wretched in French
magiccards.info is the best place to get the foreign names of cards.

Stuffy Doll. Not the card, the actual doll for whose likeness is depicted on Cursed Rack, Black Vise, the original version of The Rack, and Stuff Doll. Each doll has different markings, and Cursed Rack is the only likeness that is not depicted smiling!
Original Ornithopter and Urza's Avenger for the art.
Mark Tedin altered cards. Who else would draw Kenny on a $75 Sol Ring.

Re: Favorite Cards
I've been inspired by the global Shivan projects and similar money pit projects on various magic collector sites. I've been gathering Sol Rings and Mana Crypts in a global fashion, but neither is very far reaching, and both are financially prohibitive in completing due to Summer Magic. I have moved my attention to the Ornithopter. It was first printed in Antiquities, and enjoyed the limelight of Core from Revised through the new M2011. It took a brief sabbatical to Mirrodin during 7th and 8th editions where it first became foiled. It has seen printing in every language used by MTG, including Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and at least once in Korean.
Of regular printings, I expect Portuguese or Russian Foil to suck the most, as I found a store that has Russian Foils in stock, but I'm having trouble navigate the site in RUSSIAN!

I look forward to seeing how far you get in this endeavor. I have decided to focus more backwards than forwards in the game and hope to start my own money pits when I narrow it down to what I really really want.

Re: Favorite Cards
If I end up at home this weekend, I want to put together a Tetravus deck.
